My name is Sam and I’m a 24 year old PhD candidate in Criminology at Victoria University, Wellington. I’m based in the heart of Wellington City, and have lived here for the past 7 years. My PhD research explores the ways that young people experience pornography, and their perceptions about how pornography may have shaped their experiences of sex, love, intimacy, relationships and the self.
My PhD journey has been exciting, nerve-wracking, challenging, complex, fun, and overwhelming, all at the same time and in a very short period! I’ve decided to blog so I can track my PhD journey, and to keep on track and motivated throughout this (hopefully) three year stint!
